On 5 September (a Saturday), I went to Universal Studios Singapore (USS) with some of my polytechnic friends~ They're a fun bunch. One of them had free tickets, so we all went together (I used my Seasonal pass. ) I'll be honest and say that being on the Dukan Diet while staying out the whole day isn't easy, but I've managed to find some flexibility in terms of the diet. I brought lunch from home over to USS, and while my friends were eating their bought lunches, I ate my home-prepared one, HAHA. I was craving some soda very badly, so I decided to reward myself with a bottle of Coca-cola ZERO (I emphasize on ZERO). Coca-cola Zero uses intense sweeteners (all artificial in this case) such as Acesulfame-k, Aspartame and Sucralose. Aspartame contains 4kcal per 1g, but because it uses so little in a product, it contributes virtually no calories. The addition of 2 other sweeteners is to help create a taste that is more similar to that of normal sugar because intense sweeteners usually leave a weird aftertaste in your mouth. For those of you who are more into the 'natural' path, you can look into using Stevia instead. Stevia is derived from a herb - but it leaves a bitter aftertaste. However, I've noticed that Zero sodas usually do not use Stevia. If you want more information, click on their names here : Acesulfame-K , Aspartame , Sucralose , Stevia. The queues were really long because there was a event going on as well, but I had fun catching up with my friends. We took a few rides : Human, Revenge of the Mummy, Puss in Boots, Shrek 4D Adventure and Enchanted Airways. Human was really fun, but because we were a odd-numbered gang, I sat with another stranger - I managed to strike up a conversation, and he was pretty friendly. I hope he had fun with his friends at USS. Dinner was a bit tough, because there wasn't really any suitable food. However, thank god it is a PV day. I went for Yong Tau Foo and picked the items I could eat. I avoided drinking the soup and strained whatever I could off my spoon because the soup is actually prepared with Yellow Beans - which isn't allowed in this phase - and a lot of salt. I felt rather guilty, but it's always better to eat something slightly 'off' the list than to starve. Afterwards, we went window-shopping at Daiso and Factorie. It was quite fun.
